"Home Ownership Matters" Bus Tour Visits Today

The red, white and blue "Home Ownership Matters" bus is coming to Spokane today, March 28th, where it will be parked in the Riverfront Park Rotary Fountain Plaza at noon (Spokane Falls Boulevard and North Howard Street).

Spokane area Realtors will gather for a group photo with the bus, then speak directly with leadership from the National Association of Realtors and the Spokane Association of Realtors about home ownership issues that matter most today. Consumers are invited to join the discussion. This is the only Washington state stop on the tour. The bus is scheduled to depart around 3pm.

The "Home Ownership Matters" bus tour is a project of the National Association of Realtors (NAR) to promote the benefits of home ownership. The tour includes stops in Chicago, Denver and Portland. NAR recognized the challenges facing Realtors during the current recession and launched the Home Ownership Matters campaign. Through advocacy and outreach to lawmakers, consumers, thought leaders and the media, NAR is working to preserve this important American institution and provide Realtors and state and local associations with valuable information and tools to address concerns from clients and the community. Visit www.HouseLogic.com/bus for more information.

STCU wins national Diamond Award for outstanding marketing

It's not just Inland Northwest families who love the seasonal carriage rides sponsored in downtown Spokane and Coeur d'Alene by STCU with community partners. The free rides, and STCU's efforts to promote them, were winners when the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) Marketing and Business Development Council handed out its annual marketing awards this month.

STCU was honored with a total of three Diamond Awards - the highest possible - and two Merit Awards when its marketing efforts were judged against those of other large credit unions (those with at least $1 billion in total assets) nationwide.

STCU won Diamond Awards for:
Its quarterly magazine, OSI.
Its 2010 Visa campaign
Its "My Life, My Money" financial education program for teens

STCU won Merit Awards for:
Its Spokane and Coeur d'Alene carriage rides.
Its redesigned website and online banking platform at stcu.org.

"The Diamond Awards recognize the best of the best in credit union marketing, advertising, and business development," said Anne Legg, council chair and vice president of marketing for Cabrillo Credit Union in San Diego, Calif. "It takes hard work, imagination, and perseverance to be selected as a Diamond Award winner from nearly 1,000 entries."
