Figpickels is looking for 'Board Members'

Figpickels Toy Emporium, the region's most unique toy store, has been a magical experience in downtown Coeur d'Alene for seven years and is located at 210 Sherman Avenue in the Plaza Shops of the Coeur d'Alene Resort across from Hudson Hamburgers. Voted best Toy Store for the past 5 years is not a surprise when you meet the retail wizards, Brett and Susan Sommer and hear their vision for fun!

While tourism is an important part of the Sommer's retail businesses, they stress that their success comes from giving local customers from Coeur d'Alene and the Spokane area what they want. Susan and Brett have certainly achieved their goal of improving their hometown by creating businesses that are all about fun.

Now the Sommer family is announcing a new annual event: Figpickels Toy Emporium is looking for kids, ages 5 to 12, to serve as toy specialists on their 2012 Board of Directors. Why let adults sitting in a toy company boardroom in New York City decide what 'fun' is for your kids this holiday? If chosen as one of the Board members, you will spend the day being treated like royalty. You will be whisked away in a limo, and convene in the private Figpickels Executive Boardroom at 'The CDA Resort' where secret toy testing will be conducted. You will play, test and vote on the 2012 Figpickels Favorite Toys List that will be presented to the North Pole. The board will make a public appearance to the community on November 11th, and announce their Figpickels Favorite Toy List for 2012, making parent's and grandparent's toy shopping experience a sure hit for the kids this season!

Submit an application and tell them in 200 to 250 words, why you are qualified to serve as a toy specialist. You can learn more about the Essay Contest and download the terms and details on their website figpickels.com. Applications are available on ToyStoreCdA.com and can be picked up and dropped off at Figpickels Toy Emporium, Papillon Paper Emporium, and Mrs. Honeypeeps Sweet Shop. Deadline for dropping off applications is October 17, 2012 at 6pm.
