New hotel for Red Lion's - Leo Collection




Red Lion Hotels Corporation is executing a new franchise agreement for their Leo Hotel Collection with the owners of The Riverside Hotel in Boise. The hotel will add 300 rooms to the Leo Hotel Collection when it converts in mid-summer. The Riverside Hotel is a resort-style property spanning 14 manicured acres, situated on the banks of the Boise River. The hotel features 300 rooms and suites, and over 21,000 square feet of convention and event space. Red Lion's Leo Hotel Collection is a new brand comprising unique, boutique, historic and/or destination hotels.


Studio Forensics Academy opens for training and consulting




Studio Forensics Academy, LLC, recently launched and is a privately funded higher education academy and consulting firm located in our very own downtown's Spokane Technology Center, 120 N Pine, Suite 178. The Academy, at the crossroads of Division and Riverside in the University District, is both a science center and consulting firm. The school teaches computer security disciplines to students and professionals of all ages, regardless of technical expertise. On the consulting side, they provide computer forensic, network security, and decryption technologies, among other services. Raj Chauhan, former operator in our U.S. Special Operations Command and corporate vice president of a fortune 500 financial firm's High Tech Investigations Unit (HTIU) leads the academy's initiatives.

Students attending SFA courses will experience a digital battleground of state-of-the-art surface computing platforms and an array of operating systems. Students should be self-sufficient during the time of instruction, have a strong desire to want to learn the material, and agree to SFA's academic policies. The SFA network is unique in that it is designed to simulate various work environments that students may find themselves working in.

Currently, their introductory courses are three to five days in length. Each day consists of eight hours of instruction comprised of presentations, laboratory exercises, and hands-on training simulations. Presentations take place in a unique learning environment where students may choose to sit, stand, or even lounge on a couch during the time of instruction. SFA utilizes mind map technologies and encourage ideas to be written on walls, on the glass, or using their interactive surface computing forensic platforms.

Ann Stuckart is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and is in private practice in the Medical Center Building on the Sacred Heart campus. Vivint, Inc. bringing 400 new jobs to Liberty Lake

Vivint, Inc., one of North America's largest home automation companies, has leased space in the Liberty Lake Business Center, at 22425 E. Appleway in the City of Liberty Lake. The company will hire 400 sales professionals, and the compensation program will include a full benefits package, including paid meals. The annual regional economic impact is estimated to be in the neighborhood of about $62.3 million.

Desautel Hege Communications Promotes Associate

Bella Cova, (Italian translation: 'the beautiful nest'), is pioneering a natural parenting retail and resource center dedicated to nurturing and empowering new mothers with quality information, outstanding products, and compassionate services, all in one place.

Bella Cova, owned by Heather and Tony Villa, opened in the old Broadview Dairy location at 905 N. Washington (formerly the Caterina Winery for 25 years), June 1st, to excited mothers in the Spokane area. Business hours will run Tuesdays-Saturdays 9am-6pm, Sundays 10am-2pm, closed Mondays. Dean Feldmeier promoted at Hilton

Dean Feldmeier has been promoted from senior director of brand performance support to senior director of brand sales for Hilton Hotels. Feldmeier has also served as general manager at Hilton and DoubleTree by Hilton hotels in Anaheim, Santa Barbara and Spokane.

Providence Health Care contributes $84.5 million to support important community programs and services

Providence Health Care, a regional network of hospitals, physician clinics, long-term care and assisted-living facilities, home health programs and medical laboratories, contributed more than $84.5 million in 2012 to extend health-related services to thousands of residents in need throughout Eastern Washington.

Through its community benefit program, Providence provided free and discounted care to more than 44,000 patients; served 39,000 people through community partnerships; and provided financial support to 34 organizations in Spokane and Stevens counties to help ensure people of the region have access to essential health-related services.

Community benefit includes unreimbursed cost of government programs; free and discounted medical care for patients in need; financial support for essential health services that operate at a loss; community grants and donations; and medical education and research. Community benefit does not include expenses such as salaries, new construction and facility improvements, bad debt or taxes. In addition, Providence wrote off $60 million in bad debt that is not counted toward its community benefit program.

Cancer Patient Care's 20th annual Loreen Miller Bike Ride and Walk of Hope

This Saturday marks the 20th and final year of The Loreen Miller Bike Ride and Walk of Hope to benefit Cancer Patient Care. In its 20 years, the event has brought thousands of riders, walkers, runners, volunteers, survivors, caregivers, family, and friends together to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars in support Inland Northwest cancer patients.

Participants and donors directly impact the thousands of patients and their families expected to utilize Cancer Patient Care's services in the coming year. A variety of vital programs provided make a tremendous difference in the lives of the patients as they deal with the challenges of diagnosis and treatment. All funds raised stay here and serve the local community.

The event includes bike routes varying from 3 to 100 miles in length and a 5K run/walk. It begins at 6am at Mount Spokane High School with breakfast and check-in.
