Tran Creative designed Kootenai Health logo

Last week, we reported on the new branding of Kootenai Health in North Idaho. We incorrectly stated the logo was designed by BHW1. Tran Creative of Coeur d'Alene actually did that work.

Tran Creative is a graphic and web design firm with offices in Coeur d'Alene and Spokane. Their services include all aspects of graphic design and marketing. Tran Creative's specialty is in brand identities, web, and social media. Over 70 logos designed by Tran Creative have been published in international design books, including Logo Lounge: International Identities by Leading Designers.

The firm is led by Ben Tran, creative director and 5-time Ironman triathlete. Prior to launching Tran Creative in 2006, Tran has worked with several brand and ad agencies, including Landor, one of the largest brand agencies in the world. Brands that he has worked on include Nissan, Pepsi, Disney, Toshiba, Donald Trump, Frito Lay, and Qdoba, in different markets including Los Angeles, Hong Kong, San Francisco, Utah, San Antonio and Seattle.

Spyhra, (Sphere-ah), a leading provider of a wide variety of business services, headquartered in Spokane Valley at 621 N. Argonne, Suite 100, is going through a major expansion and has greatly increased their range of business solutions offerings. The company's growing number of new products and services for business have nearly doubled and include financial, telecommunications, accounting, marketing services for e-commerce solutions (like website shopping carts and other services), a wide array of electronic payment processing opportunities and more.

Sphyra's initial business model was credit and debit card processing for businesses. The company was so successful that in just five years, it was twice ranked in the "Inc. 500" list of fastest growing companies, in 2011 and again in 2012. Sphyra has now grown to over 130 team members in five major markets including Spokane, Tempe/Phoenix, Denver, Tampa and San Diego. The Spokane Valley headquarters office, headed by CEO Shane Hurley and owner Chris Manfred, has 57 team members, including administrative staff and independent agents, and is growing with the new product and service offerings being well received by the local business community.

A leading provider of business solutions, Sphyra is offering a suite of products including a cloud-based VoIP phone system called Ring Central (VoIP (voice over Internet Protocol), which allows businesses to connect and manage multiple devices, locations and employees from one central location. Sphyra's Ring Central service offers customers call recording, auto-receptionist, and voicemail with email notifications. It also includes unlimited extensions, local and long distance calling and faxing within the U.S. and Canada, efficient integration with Microsoft Office, GoogleDocs, Drop Box, and Sales Force. It also allows for unlimited conferencing, business SMS and Internet fax.

The company's credit, debit card and check payment processing, with some of the lowest rates in the industry, has evolved through the years to leading edge systems that now include mobile devices. Also offered are ATMs; cloud solutions; EMV (Euoropay, Mastercard, Visa) which are integrated circuit cards used for point of sale (POS) terminals and automated teller machines (ATMs), and for authenticating credit and debit card transactions. Traveling Vietnam Wall coming to Spokane on October

Many just call it "The Wall". The AVTT Traveling Vietnam Wall, a replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington D.C., will be displayed in Spokane October 3rd though 6th, marking the 40th anniversary of the United States' official withdrawal from Vietnam.

This is the largest traveling wall display, measuring 360 feet in length and 8 feet high at its apex, presented by the American Veterans Traveling Tribute and the Texas Freedom Tribute. "The AVTT Traveling Wall" is being sponsored locally by The Fairmount Memorial Association, and will make its only Eastern Washington appearance at Greenwood Memorial Terrace at 211 North Government Way in Spokane.

This exact replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall contains 58,195 names of those who died in the Vietnam conflict, including 84 service members from Spokane.

Denny York, President and CEO of Fairmount Holdings Inc. said, "We expect upwards of 30,000 – 40,000 people will visit the exhibit during its 4 day appearance in Spokane. People will come from as far away as Montana, Northern Oregon and Western Washington. There is no charge to visit "The Wall" which will be fully lit and open 24 hours each day so visitation can happen no matter what a person's schedule is. We'll also have complimentary buses stationed to take visitors to and from the exhibit."

Also on display will be one of 4 exact replicas of the Liberty Bell, made from the original Liberty Bell casting. The Liberty Bell will ring daily, each time the names of Spokane's fallen heroes are read aloud at The Wall.

Major sponsorship opportunities are available to promote your business's support of veterans. Contact Denny York with the Fairmount Cemeteries at 509-326-3800 for more sponsorship information.

Christmas in July at Salvation Army Thriftstores this week

Though we are pushing 90 degree temperatures in Spokane, The Salvation Army is getting into the Christmas spirit this week. The Salvation Army Thriftstore, at 2020 N Division, Spokane, WA. is hosting a Christmas in July Sale, today and Thursday, July 25.

There are two goals with this promotion. The first, sell a huge load of Christmas inventory that simply must go, in order to make room for new items being brought in daily. The second, to promote the services provided at the Salvation Army and remind the public that when in need, the Salvation Army is there to offer help. Of course, the organization will also have its iconic red kettle and bell ringer on hand collecting monetary donations, along with its Emergency Response Vehicle providing water and candy to shoppers.
