The Riverside Hotel in Boise joins Red Lion's Leo Hotel Collection

Red Lion Hotels Corporation has announced The Riverside Hotel in Boise officially joined the Leo Hotel Collection.

Since acquiring the property in October 2011, the ownership group has spent more than

$2 million in renovations, improvements, equipment and landscaping on The Riverside Hotel. The hotel has been a boon to the southern Idaho economy, developing menus using locally sourced foods, microbrews, wine and spirits.

Simply Northwest set to reveal new logo

On Tuesday, August 13, Simply Northwest, a well-known professional gift service at 11806 E. Sprague Avenue in Spokane Valley, will announce their fresh new look with a "Reveal Party" from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. "Customers are invited to be the first to see our new look and enjoy the amazing service and products they've always loved", says Denielle Waltermire Stuhlmiller, Owner. "

The Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce will be on hand to celebrate Simply Northwest's announcement of their new brand identity - mainly a new logo- that's been months in the making. Waltermire-Stuhlmiller has been working with Rainmaker Creative through this process and says, "Our new logo is fresh, fun, modern and it encompasses who we are and what we do." There will be samples of the many Northwest specialty food products and treats carried by Simply Northwest including their famous Simply Soft Peanut Brittle. Everyone in attendance will have the chance to participate in games and enter to win prizes custom made by Simply Northwest.

New business for the Bulldog Tavern location

Chairs Coffee &Public House will open in the old Bulldog Tavern location in the GU district at 1305 N Hamilton. This will be the second Chairs Coffee House in Spokane and this new location will be open seven days a week, offering breakfast, lunch and dinner. The business plans to open sometime later this year.

Spokane Lilac Festival announces Diamond Anniversary books are available

Established in 1938, the Spokane Lilac Festival set its sights on celebrating the beautiful Lilac City, Spokane, growing it to a popular family destination event and the nation's largest Armed Forces Torchlight Parade.

To commemorate the Diamond Anniversary of the Lilac Festival Association this historic pictorial book was created from collections of photographs and memories of past Lilac Festivals from the first float to this year's festival. Pride, Parades and Princesses is the result of efforts to search and retrieve information covering three-fourths of a century in Spokane. Great memories were renewed and rare photographs retrieved.

New hires at the Lincoln Center

The Lincoln Center has hired 3 key individuals. First, as an Event Coordinator, Kelsee Tower has joined the team to focus on weddings. Her background includes several positions at The Davenport Hotel, including wedding coordination.

Second, as an event coordinator, Jamie Blomberg joins The Lincoln Center team to specialize in reaching out to Inland Northwest entities in need of party, training or any other meeting space with catering. Her background includes owning her own establishment and event coordination expereince from non profit fundraisers to holiday parties.

And third, The Lincoln Center welcomes veteran catering server Ken Holeman to their team. He brings an extensive background in hospitality, including 16 years with the Spokane Club. In addition to his serving skills, Ken is also the "whiz kid" of audio-visual systems. His expertise will complement our team of professionals at The Lincoln Center.

Spokane Chiefs Hockey hires Brian Cobb

The Spokane Chiefs have hired Brian Cobb as the organization's new Director of Public/Media Relations. Cobb was a Public Relations/Marketing intern for the Seattle Thunderbirds during the 2011-12 season, while pursuing his Master's in Sport Administration and Leadership from Seattle University. He also has a degree in Political Science from Washington State University. Cobb replaces Jay Stewart, who had served as Director of Public/Media Relations since 2000. Stewart was recently promoted to Vice President - Sponsorships.

Ticket packages for the 2013-14 season are currently on sale. The Chiefs will open the regular season on the road against Tri-City on Saturday, September 21 with Bud Light Opening Night taking place on Saturday, September 28 as they host the Americans. Red Lion Hotels' Harry G. Sladich Named to Destination & Travel Foundation Executive Committee

Red Lion Hotels Corporation has announced Harry G. Sladich has been named Executive Committee Member At-Large for the 2013-2015 Destination & Travel Foundation Board of Trustees. Sladich was named to the Board of Trustees in 2012 and this week was elected to the Executive Committee of the board.

Sladich also serves as a U.S. Travel Association At-Large Director, a post to which he was named in 2011.
