Numerica's Downtown Branch Opens its Doors

Numerica Credit Union opened its doors today at their new Downtown Spokane branch, 502 W. Riverside, at Stevens, the former location of First National Bank. The staff has planned several prizes, fun giveaways and refreshments for a three-day open house, set for Nov. 20-22, where anyone can visit, meet the staff and check out the new "digs." The Downtown branch is the first Numerica branch to open since introduction of their new brand, which is evident in the relaxed, friendly, and open interior design with a focus on community involvement.

The branch is technologically savvy with a tech bar to charge your cell phone and electronic brochures that can be emailed so that visitors don't have to carry them while they continue enjoying the town or head back to the office.

"We're here to foster well-being in people's lives, so our branch is light, airy and stress-free," explained Jake Krummel, Numerica's downtown market manager. "The branch has an inviting design that allows us to be personable with our members so that we can easily have conversations about their needs, their goals, and their future plans."

In addition to conducting standard member transactions, the service center will have tailored services for business members focusing on business deposits, loans and cash management services. A conference room will be available for consultations with Numerica's business services officers and for financial seminars and workshops geared toward business owners.

The branch is open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Mon.-Fri. It can be accessed from both the outside at street level and inside through downtown's skywalk system. The location will also house a full-service ATM, available 24 hours a day.

The property, owned by RenCorpRealty, was formerly known as the Sherwood Mall and has now been renamed "The Numerica Building." Numerica leased 3,018 square feet of space on the first floor with the entrance on Riverside. More information about the downtown branch and staff can be found on Numerica's Blog.

Numerica Credit Union currently has over 90,000 members throughout Central and Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho and over $1 billion in assets. It offers a full line of financial products and services, including mortgages and business products. Membership is open to anyone who lives or works in the State of Washington or the Idaho Panhandle.

Epicurean Delight Award winners

Epicurean Delight, benefiting the Inland Northwest Blood Center was last Friday, 11/8/13. As the sole fundraiser for INBC, Epicurean Delight brings together 30 restaurants and 30 wineries/breweries to feature some of the most amazing food and libations that a fundraising event has to offer. The event has become known as the most-fun black-tie gala in the Northwest.

The culinary awards are judged by a panel of Epicurean Delight sponsors and community leaders an hour prior to the event. The judging is completely blind, with the judges only having access to a description of the items and not the name of the restaurant providing the dish. Each culinary judge samples every item in their respective category, hors d'oeuvres, first course, entrée and dessert and scores each item on palate pleasing and visual appeal. The numbers are tallied and the awards are announced during the program at the event.

The 2013 winners are:

Outstanding Hors d 'Oeuvres: Burgundy's at The Spokane Club for their Pan Fried Crab Cakes.

Outstanding First Course: The Flying Goat for their Rabbit Confit.

Outstanding Entree: EPIC Spokane for their Apple Wood Smoked Columbia River Steelhead.

Outstanding Dessert: Simply Gourmet Catering Co. for their Green Bluff Apple Tart Tatin.

People's Choice Best Restaurant: Burgundy's at The Spokane Club.

Mark your calendar for next year's Epicurean Delight on November 14, 2014. Go to epicureandelight.org for more information.
