Updates to the Spokane Community Indicators website

More than 50 new indicators have been added to the Spokane Community Indicators site in Environment, Health and Public Safety Categories. Examples include information on water consumption per capita, bird species counts, data on incarcerations, arrests and race and much more.

The Community Indicators Initiative of Spokane seeks to improve local, public decision-making by providing relevant data in an easily navigable website. The data will offer neutral information for all parties involved in public policy issues.

More specifically, the goals are:
• To collect and share a broad spectrum of information to support informed decision-making by individual community members, governmental policy makers, non-governmental organizations, businesses, business organizations, researchers, and the press.
• To measure progress over time of various efforts toward a healthy, vibrant community.
• To measure the community's progress via relevant benchmarks outside of the County.
• To enable analysis of these trends.
• To create a forum for a discussion of the issues underlying the data, either on-line or in person.

The American Advertising Federation of Spokane will hold the annual Addy event on March 8th, 2014. Each year an Advertising Professional of the Year is chosen by nominations by AAF Spokane members.

Nominees are any active AAF Spokane member that voting members feel have made a positive force within AAF Spokane, the community, and their company in local advertising and/or related fields.
