Nectar Tasting Room contracts with Events! By Karen Herford

Nectar Tasting Room has become one of Spokane's premier venues for small to mid-size events accommodating between 20-120 guests. For 2015, Nectar has contracted with and together they are excited to take the event facility to the next level. RLHC signs franchise agreement for new construction hotel in Polson, Montana

Red Lion Hotels Corporation has announced that a new construction Red Lion Ridgewater Inn & Suites Polson in Montana is set to be completed in June 2015. The company has signed a franchise agreement with a Montana developer who broke ground on the property in November.

The Red Lion Ridgewater Inn & Suites Polson, 109 Ridgewater Drive, will have 80 guest rooms, 32 of which are suites, and nearly 3,500 square feet of meeting space overlooking Flathead Lake, one of the most scenic lakes in the Northwest. Guest amenities include an indoor pool, hot tub, fitness center, business center, guest laundry facilities and free Wi-Fi and breakfast. A popular Montana eatery, MacKenzie River Pizza, Grill & Pub, is also under construction adjacent to the property.

Polson, Montana is located at a major crossroads at the south end of Flathead Lake and is surrounded by the Mission Mountains Wilderness. Flathead Lake is known for the 2,100-acre Wild Horse Island, where half a dozen wild horses live, along with bighorn sheep, mule deer, bald eagles and falcons. The Flathead River runs through Polson and offers whitewater rafting and fishing adventures. DCI Engineers promotes 3 Senior Project Managers to Associates

DCI Engineers, civil and structural consulting engineers, announces the promotions of Logun Rasmussen, Thomas Holman and Matthew Thomas to firm Associates. All three structural engineers support DCI's Spokane office.

Logun Rasmussen, P.E., S.E., has been promoted as an Associate at DCI. Joining DCI in 2004, Rasmussen has developed a rapport with eastern Washington communities through his involvement with high-profile projects in Spokane and Pullman, Washington. His past projects include the 17-story Davenport Grand Hotel; a 91,000-sf addition to the Spokane Convention Center; a 94,000-sf addition to Washington State University's (WSU) Martin Stadium; and the 95,000-sf addition to the WSU Football Operations Building. He is currently co-chair of the firm's wood committee which develops engineering design standards and details for building with the material. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at Washington State University. Rasmussen is also an active board member of the Safari Club International (SCI) organization.

Thomas Holman, P.E., S.E., was promoted to an Associate at DCI. As part of his new role, he will maintain and develop client accounts; manage teams involved in larger projects; and direct project schedules and budgets. Since joining the firm in 2006, Holman worked on the Penesquito Crushing Station in Mexico; numerous mixed-use buildings and developments in Bellevue and Covington, Washington; the 1 million gallon concrete Colville Reservoir; and other notable projects. He has become an expert in heavy industrial design which includes semi-mobile equipment, material handling, and fatigue analysis. Among the pool of clients he has worked with, Holman has teamed with SRM Development, Inland Group, and Lydig Construction. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at Boise State University. Holman is currently the board president for 'Partnering for Progress,' a local non-profit group serving communities in rural southern Kenya.

Matthew Thomas, S.E., was also promoted as an Associate at DCI. Since 2006, he has fulfilled responsibilities as a project engineer and senior project manager for a wide range of commercial and civil projects. Some of the unique projects Thomas led includes the Northtown Mall Redevelopment and Ruby Housing in Spokane, Washington and the Colville Tribal Government Center in Nespelem, Washington. He is a technical committee member in the firm's steel, concrete and design load focus groups. Thomas earned his Bachelor of Science in Engineering at Walla Walla University. He is also an active member of the Structural Engineering Association of Washington (SEAW).

Dr. Vange M. Ocasio Hochheimer named to League of Education Voters Board of Directors

Dr. Vange M. Ocasio Hochheimer has been appointed to a three-year board term on the Seattle-based League of Education Voters Board of Directors. She was nominated by Community Colleges of Spokane Chancellor Christine Johnson, and passed multiple interviews and vetting. This gives Eastern Washington a strong voice and representation on this powerful board that influences public and educational policy.
