New Jimmy Johns to open in Spokane Valley

A new Jimmy John's Gourmet Sandwich restaurant is planned for Spokane Valley. It will be located in 1,500 square feet of space in the Pines Square retail center, at 1421 N. Pines the site of a former Quizno's sandwich shop. This will be the 11th Jimmy John's location in the Spokane Coeur d'Alene area.

KPBX 2015 Recordings & Videos Sale Feb 21 & 22

KPBX, Spokane Public Radio's 2015 Recordings & Videos Sale will be on Saturday, February 21 from 9am to 5pm and Sunday, February 22 from 11am to 5pm at The Lincoln Center, 1316 N Lincoln. You'll have an opportunity to shop through thousands of CDs, DVDs, records, and videos in dozens of genres. Each day also features a silent auction of classic equipment and a few rare recordings. Great bargains benefit Spokane Public Radio KPBX, KSFC, and KPBZ.

'How to be Ageless' workshop held February 21 in CdA

Motivational and Inspirational teacher and speaker Joy McMahon will hold a workshop, 'How to be Ageless' on Saturday, February 21 from 1-4pm at the Unity Spiritual Center of North Idaho, 4465 N 15th Street in Coeur d'Alene.

Joy has a background in wellness and anti-aging. She will share how she created 'timelessness' and slowed down her biological clock. She will discuss how your mind set influences every cell of your body and help you to understand the biological clock, and how to reverse time in your consciousness and body. The workshop is interactive, so you will experience 'how to' activate agelessness. You will learn about Life Extension Keys. Lincoln Center Recognized by Washington State Wine Commission for 4th consecutive year

The Lincoln Center has been awarded the 2015 Award of Distinction from the Washington Wine Commission, at an awards ceremony at Benaroya Hall, in downtown Seattle. Master Sommelier Rob Bigelow emceed the event, during which attendees were able to taste wines from more than 60 Washington State vintners, before accepting their awards. The Lincoln Center was among only three establishments in the Spokane area recognized for their wine programs, in company with Churchill's Steakhouse and Masselow's Restaurant at the Northern Quest Casino.

Winners were selected from more than 220 nominations and were chosen for their impressive menus, innovative educational programs and marketing efforts, and commitment to excellent service and beverage offerings.


Josh Wade to acquire Just a Couple of Moms Catering

Josh Wade of Nectar Tasting Room and Nectar Wine and Beer has come to an agreement with Maiden Lane Entities to acquire Just a Couple of Moms Catering. Just a Couple of Moms started in 2010 as the passion of Kathleen White and her business partner Lori Ennis. For the last several years Kathleen and her husband Tom White (not one of the moms) have been building a tasty reputation as one of Spokane's top catering companies. In 2013 the business moved from the north side of Spokane to the basement of Nectar Tasting Room.

Just a Couple of Moms is a full service catering company providing meals for corporate events, weddings and other special occasions and parties as well as being the sole food provider for Nectar Tasting Rooms regular menu and events.

Yelp help is here with Alyssa Agee



Alyssa Agee is Spokane's Yelp Ambassador helping local businesses utilize the back-end tools and features designed specifically for owners and managers. Yelp is a website and mobile app that helps connect people with great local businesses. Users can read and post reviews on the site of everything from their auto mechanic to their favorite coffee shop or local boutique. The site boasts over 67 million local reviews. Plus, you can access Yelp on your iphone, Android and more. Yelp just celebrated turning 10 years old in 2014.

Agee also connects Yelpers by bringing them off-line to meet and mingle at great monthly events hosted by businesses and organizations around town. She also curates the Weekly Yelp, an e-newsletter that features businesses and events around town. She sponsors local events and partners with local organizations and groups to help spread the word about Yelp.

Rumpeltes & Lawton, LLC celebrates 5 years in business

Ray Lawton and Ned Rumpeltes have completed their 5th year of assisting owners come to the right choices to successfully transition their businesses. Ray and Ned are both former 3rd generation family business owners. Each watched how their grandfather and father transitioned the businesses and they then transitioned the businesses they owned in different ways.

Moore Storage leases space in Spokane Valley

Jeff Ottmar of Sperry Van Ness/Cornerstone recently brokered the sale of the 32,620 square feet of space at 16823 E. Sprague Avenue in Spokane Valley to Moore Storage. The facility offers 233 self-storage units, 32 RV storage spaces and 5,788sf of single-story retail with Sprague Avenue frontage.

New staff at Providence Health Care Foundation

Providence Health Care Foundation Eastern Washington has hired Jennifer Hicks and Margie Scammell-Renner as development directors, and Carol Bonino as grant development and research specialist.

Jennifer Hicks has returned to Spokane after several years overseas and on the east coast. She was previously director of development for Spokane Symphony Society. Margie Scammell-Renner was previously community relationship manager with the American Cancer Society. Carol Bonino spent over 26 years at Gonzaga University in a variety of development and communications positions, with an emphasis on foundation relations.
