Anthropologie is finally on the way to downtown Spokane

After much speculation, knowledgeable reports say that Anthropologie is 'locked in' to the space at 811 West Main across from River Park Square in the space currently occupied by Mobius Science Center. And, according to Downtown Spokane Partnership leader, Mark Richard, another internationally known retailer has toured space downtown and is expected to finalize a move soon. The photo is an example of what an Anthropologie store looks like. The news has many Spokane women very excited. Realtor Marianne Guenther Bornhoft said, "In commercial real estate this is a huge coup for Spokane! It is one of my favorite stores."

Anthropologie, owned by Urban Outfitters and headquartered in Philadelphia, opened its first store in 1992 in Wayne, Pennsylania. Anthropologie currently operates over 175 retail stores worldwide. Other northwest locations are downtown Seattle, University Village, Bellevue Square, Portland, Tigard, Boise, Calgary and Edmonton. The brand is known for its highly imaginative store fixtures and award-winning windows.

In 2012 Anthropologie partnered with more than 30 artists and designers as part of its 'Made in Kind' initiative. The ongoing series has featured exclusive limited-run collections by the likes of Peter Som, Tracy Reese, Byron Lars, Chris Benz and Paola Navone, as well as emerging talents from around the globe. Anthropologie stores host various 'Do it yourself' workshops, fashion shows, and special events throughout the year.

Ezell's Famous Chicken is coming to Spokane

The 10 store Seattle based restaurant chain will be in a 1700 square foot space in the Regal Shopping Plaza at 4919 South Regal. It's Ezell's first location in Eastern Washington. Washington Trust Bank presents CNBC and Fox Business's Gail Buckner

U.S. Bancorp named Fortune's most admired superregional bank

Fortune magazine named U.S. Bancorp the most admired superregional bank today, the fifth consecutive year that U.S. Bancorp has topped the list.

U.S. Bancorp was also recognized among the top ten most admired of companies in all industries for six of Fortune's nine key attributes of reputation: Management Quality (U.S. Bancorp no. 2 overall), Wise Use of Corporate Assets (4), Value as a Long-Term Investment (6), Soundness of Financial Position (7), Ability to Attract, Develop, and Retain Talent (8) and Community Responsibility (9).

In the superregional banks category, U.S. Bancorp ranked first in eight of the nine industry key attributes of reputation: Innovation, People Management, Use of Corporate Assets, Social Responsibility, Quality of Management, Financial Soundness, Long-Term Investment Value and Quality of Products/Services.

Fortune's ranking is determined by a survey of executives, directors and analysts rating companies inside and outside of their industry on a series of criteria.

Brand It increases staff

Brand It Promotional Products has hired Jill Strom (pictured) as a Marketing Assistant and in Production Management. Strom has a degree in Communications from Washington State University. She has previously worked for Eastern Washington University, the Northwest Museum of Arts & Culture and the Spokane Masonic Center.

Steve Miller also joined Brand It as a designer. Steve attended Guilford Technical Community College and has been working as a graphic designer for the past 18 years in North Carolina. His proficiencies cover many aspects of graphic design, print and web design, illustration and technical knowledge.

Todd Zyph is also new to Brand It's creative team. Zyph graduated from The Art Institute of Phoenix with a Graphic/Web Design degree. He has worked as a production artist, freelance designer and most recently Art Director. Todd brings over 10 years of experience with him.

Brand It Advertising has also hired Laurie Olson as an Accounting Manager. She attended the University of Minnesota-Crookston receiving a degree in Small Business/ Retail Management and an accounting degree from Northwest Technical College. Prior to coming on board with Brand It Advertising, Laurie worked for a CPA Firm in Minnesota for 10 years and at a law firm in Spokane in the accounting department.

Downtown hotel receives 2015 Gold Hospitality Award

Quality Inn Downtown 4th Avenue hotel is in the top 10% of Quality Inns across the country. Visit Spokane announces that one of the region's hotels, Quality Inn Downtown 4th Ave, has been awarded the 2015 Gold Hospitality Award from Choice Hotels International.

The award is determined by hotels that are ranked in the top 10% of all 6,300 Choice Hotels across the nation. The Quality Inn Downtown 4th Ave was placed in the top 10% based on customer surveys, meeting brand standards and reviews from travel websites such as TripAdvisor and Yelp.

The 2015 Gold Hospitality Award is based on the 2014 performance ratings.

Stacy K. Harris Joins Bernardo Wills Architects

Stacy K. Harris has joined Bernardo Wills Architects as marketing coordinator. As the primary implementer of the firm's marketing initiatives, she is responsible for marketing, communications and graphic design.

Her responsibilities include the design and preparation of proposals, presentations, advertisements and corporate literature, as well as the planning and execution of e-mail marketing materials and maintaining brand standards.

Brad Corkill joins bankcda Board of Directors

bankcda has recently announced its newest Board member, Brad Corkill. Brad has spent his entire career in the timber industry and has owned Whiteman Lumber since 1988, Idaho's oldest continuously operating sawmill, based in Cataldo, Idaho. He has a bachelor's degree in forest engineering and has previously served on both the St. Maries and the Kellogg School Boards, was a member of the Charter School Commission, and is a current board member of both the 1st Judicial CASA and the Idaho Fish and Game Commission. Brad is a past board member of the Shoshone Medical Center Foundation.

Scribbles Espresso Now Open

Scribbles Espresso, located at 312 E 3rd Ave is now open serving espresso and coffee beverages. Some of their specialty espresso drinks include salted caramel latte, caramel macchiato and more. They also serve hot chocolate, chai tea lattes, steamers, teas and more. Decaf and white coffee are also available. Free drip coffee and wi-fi available.

Hours are Monday and Tuesday, 7:30 to 10:30am. Ten percent of proceeds benefit students of Spokane Public Schools. Scribbles Espresso is a service o Orchard Christian Fellowship.
