Thanks to Pam Scott with the CVB for arranging the nice article on Spokane, the birthplace of Fathers Day, that appeared in Saturday's American Profile magazine, which is circulated in daily newspapers across he country. The magazine which was inserted into Saturday's Spokesman Review has a circulation of 10 million.

"Wonder Woman" at Northern Quest tomorrow

Wendle Motors’ Father's Day Car Show

New music director at Civic Theatre

Jim Ryan has joined the staff of Spokane Civic Theatre as full-time Music Director. Originally from St. Louis, Jim comes to Civic via points east, including: Pittsburgh, Fort Lauderdale, and Philadelphia, where he musically directed productions at many premier regional theaters. He was nominated for four of Philadelphia's Barrymore Awards for Excellence in Theater - twice for musical direction and twice for original music.

The City of Spokane and the Spokane Transit Authority are working together to complete The Spokane Downtown Transit Alternative Analysis to identify a high performance transit service that will connect major activity centers within the downtown core. The study area encompasses the hospitals and lower south hill to the south, the University District and east Sprague business district to the east, Browne's Addition and Peaceful Valley to the west, and the West Central, Emerson Garfield and Logan neighborhoods to the north. New golf course at Silver Mountain

The new Galena Ridge Golf Course at Silver Mountain Resort is set to make its debut on June 20th. Tucked into the hills above Kellogg, Galena Ridge is a mountain course masterpiece. The course was created to provide golfers of all abilities stunning mountain views to coincide with a highly enjoyable golf experience. What makes the course unique is the amount of elevation change. Several of the first nine holes drop well over 120 feet from tee to green, one of which is an exciting 506 yard par 4 that drops 235 feet. When the Galena Ridge Golf Course is completely finished, the total elevation change will be in excess of 450 feet and encompass over 350 acres of terrain. After nearly 4 years of development and construction, 9 of the planned 18 holes are ready for play. The course is open to the public and walk-ins are welcome, however tee time reservations are recommended and can be made up to 30 days in advance. The design work for the remaining holes is nearing completion and construction is expected to commence within the next two years.
