Rob McCann receives Providence Humanitarian Award

On October 10, Providence Health Care held its 25th annual Sister Peter Claver Humanitarian Award ceremony at the Spokane Convention Center. The 2017 award recipient is Rob McCann, Ph. D., executive director of Catholic Charities Eastern Washington. Elaine Couture, Providence Health Care chief executive said, "Like Sister Peter Claver, Rob is vigilant to ensure resources are provided in the area of greatest need in our community: food, shelter, clothing, education, and counseling. Rob's compassion for others who suffer; whether in body, mind or spirit, truly leads his work and is at the very core of who he is."

Rob serves the most vulnerable in our region. Under Rob's leadership, Catholic Charities has built nearly 1,000 residences for the homeless and poor, served thousands weekly in the house of charity and day care facilities and personally delivered food and supplies to disaster victims.
