An Immigrant Story

Casey and Hector Quiroga

Hector Quiroga is an immigrant from Colombia who immigrated to the United States in January 2000. When he arrived, Hector did not speak English or have a way to financially support his career.

In a little less than ten years, Hector mastered the English language and put himself through Gonzaga University, where he graduated with honors and a double major (economics and political science). He pursued his dream to become a lawyer, but he was denied admission to all Washington state law schools and many other schools in the U.S. He was finally admitted to Thomas M. Cooley School of Law in Michigan.

Hector's performance as a first year law student in Michigan was exceptional. He placed in the top 5% of his class and was given a 25% scholarship for high academic achievement. Hector transferred to Gonzaga University School of Law for his second and third year. There he earned several awards, including Runner-Up Best Oralist at the prestigious Linden Cup competition. He was also inducted as a member Gonzaga University School of Law Moot Court Council.

During his student career, Hector worked as a law clerk for the then Chief Judge of the Federal Eastern District of Washington, Honorable Robert H. Whaley. He also worked as a law clerk for the Washington State Attorney General, Department of Labor and Industries Division. In addition, he published his book, The Auto Policy and the Claim Investigation Process, ISBN 098-0615-20360-7.

Perhaps more importantly, and the achievements he is most proud of, Hector became a husband, a father, and last but not least, a United States citizen.

Today, Hector is a partner at the Quiroga Law Office, PLLC where he practices in the areas of bankruptcy, business, personal injury, and immigration. His wife, Casey, also an attorney and a partner, practices in the areas of bankruptcy, family law, real estate, and estate planning. Hector and Casey have helped hundreds of clients deal with difficult financial and civil issues. They are located in Spokane Valley at 505 N. Argonne Rd. The phone number is 509-927-3840 and the website is QuirogaLawOffice.com.
