Magner Sanborn named Ad Age West Coast Small Agency of the Year

Magner Sanborn was selected as Advertising Age's 2012 West Region Small Agency of the Year at an event held Thursday, July 26th, in Minneapolis. The Small Agency Awards, presented by Advertising Age and Creativity, recognize "the power of nimble, creative and independently minded" agencies.

In the annual competition now in its fourth year, award winners are selected by the editorial staff of Advertising Age and Creativity from hundreds of U.S. and international agencies that are majority-independent owned, or at least 51 percent privately-held. Gold and silver awards were presented in the following categories: Agency of the Year-Overall; Campaign of the Year-Overall; and Agency of the Year by region--Southeast, Southwest, Midwest, West and Northeast. Winners in three size categories, best agency culture and an international winner were also announced.

"There are some phenomenal smaller firms doing really incredible work out there. And we're thrilled to be recognized by Ad Age as one of them." said Dennis Magner, Magner Sanborn's president. "We're not based in New York. And we're not owned by a multi-national syndicate. But we can generate ideas that stack-up against anyone, anywhere."

"The creative ideas and the strategic thinking we are seeing out of the small agency community is highly impressive," said Ad Age Agency Editor Rupal Parekh, one of the judges. "The work these shops are doing is original, unexpected and above all has a huge impact on their clients' bottom lines. I'd stack up any of the shops on our list this year against big agencies in terms of quality of output. They are really leveling the playing field."

Magner Sanborn is a full-service advertising and brand design firm specializing in the development of branded experiences. The firm has 40 employees with offices in Spokane and Seattle—with additional employees working remotely in San Diego, Grand Rapids and Sydney, Australia. Agency clients include Netflix, FanVision, Mandalay Digital, Washington Dairy Commission, Amtrak Cascades, Providence Health Care, AmericanWest Bank, Avista, Memjet, Thomas-Hammer Coffee, Yoke's Fresh Markets and others.
