SCORE presents 'How to Use Social Media for Your Business'

— The world is changing the way it gets information and customer referrals. Social Media is new and growing every day. It is also confusing. As a business owner do you know how to use the various forms of Social Media as a marketing tool to grow more business? Growing business using Social Media is not just about being 'on' social networks. Success comes from a thought-out and intentional strategy.

Learn the key components at the SCORE Workshop 'How to Use Social Media for Your Business.' the workshop is Thursday, August 30, 9:30 to 11:30 am, at the SBA Training Room, 801 W Riverside, Suite 444. Workshop Cost is $40 pre-registered, $50 at the door, $15 for an additional person from the same company.

This will be a 'hands on' workshop. Attendees are encouraged to bring their laptops, tablets, or smart phones to be guided through how to use sites like Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. Workshop presenter will be Josh King, vice president of operations for Peacock Virtual Solutions. Hired in 2011, Josh has managed Peacock Virtual Solutions' transition from a home-based sole-proprietorship business to an office with 4 full-time employees and a team of a dozen virtual contractors. In less than a year, the Peacock's revenue has tripled. In that same time, the client base has expanded beyond Spokane, where Peacock's offices are located, to Idaho, California, Texas, and New Hampshire.

Prior to Peacock Virtual Solutions, Josh handled Business Development for a boutique marketing and design firm, was an Account Executive at Comcast Spotlight, and before that, was the Marketing Director at 49° North Mountain Resort.
