Spokane YWCA Announces 2012 Women of Achievement Annual Awards to be Presented at October 25 Luncheon

— Six extraordinary Spokane citizens will be honored for their leadership and service to the community on October 25 during the 30th annual YWCA Women of Achievement Benefit Luncheon. The luncheon will be held at the Spokane Convention Center Ballrooms, 334 West Spokane Falls Blvd., from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.

The honorees were selected from nominations submitted by community members in five categories. The 2012 award winners are:
Nancy Compau, Arts and Culture; Ruth Bindler, Professional; Julie Farley (The Make-up Studio), Volunteer Community Service; Camille McCluskey, Volunteer Community Service; Jim Mohr, Racial & Social Justice; Alexandria Moore, Senior, Central Valley High School, Young Woman of Achievement.

"The YWCA Women of Achievement Benefit Luncheon is our opportunity to honor outstanding individuals whose lives, talents and passions shape the community," explained Trish McFarland, YWCA of Spokane Executive Director. "The luncheon also serves as a vital source of funding for the programs and services we provide to underserved women and children in the Spokane area. Our work continues because of the generosity of the community, and we need that support more than ever these days."
