Spokane Symphony Announces New Marketing Director

The Spokane Symphony Society has tapped Audrey Overstreet, a former Capitol Hill public relations and marketing specialist, as its new Director of Marketing and PR. She will replace longtime Marketing and PR Director Annie Matlow, who is retiring from the post in June.

Overstreet has big shoes to fill; Annie Matlow has been the driving force behind the Symphony's PR and marketing campaigns for the past 13 years. Annie joined the Symphony shortly after the decision was made to purchase the Fox. Her many contributions include helping to move the organization into the age of digital marketing, coordinating award-winning marketing campaigns, and creating a marketing presence for the Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox beginning with the grand opening of the theater in 2007.

Overstreet worked as a journalist for more than a decade, first as a reporter at the American Lawyer Magazine in New York City; then as a music writer in Austin, Texas, where she also wrote for Texas Monthly and the Austin-American Statesman. She ventured into politics in the 1990s, first as the Politics Editor at The Austin Chronicle for 3 years, and then as a Texas statewide political campaign press secretary, and finally as press secretary for members of the U.S. Congress in Washington, D.C. Her corporate marketing experience includes work at two agencies: Public Strategies, Inc. in Washington, D.C. and Stone Yamashita in San Francisco.
