City of Spokane seeking golf course sponsorships

— The City of Spokane Parks and Recreation Department is seeking Requests for Expression of Interest (RFEI) regarding investment of significant capital in the four City-owned championship golf courses in exchange for sponsorship/naming rights and other value opportunities.

The four courses are: Indian Canyon, The Creek at Qualchan, Downriver and Esmeralda. 144,000 rounds were played on the four courses in 2012.Over time the courses have matured and require significant capital investment to protect their future as premier public golf courses in the Greater Spokane Region.

The City of Spokane is formally issuing this Request for Expression of Interest. At this time, the City is not seeking formal proposals.

Minimum Qualifications: The Proposer must be able to prove its ability to make a significant capital investment into one or more Golf Courses. It is the desire of the City of Spokane to exchange sponsorship/naming rights and other valuable opportunities in return for a capital investment in the courses. The period of performance of any contract resulting from this Request for Expression of Interest will most likely be greater than 5 years but most likely not more than 20 years.

Potential investors should submit an Expression of Interest letter to Leroy Eadie at the Parks and Recreation Department at Spokane City Hall by June 11th, 2013, 5:00 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time.
