All these quotes reflect what the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery does 24 hours a day, each day of the year, as it provides respite care to parents of young children - investing in the children as well as helping to keep their parents sane.

Now, those three quotations and nearly 800 others will play their own role in furthering VBCN's mission, as entries in a new book of quotations that will help support the nursery.

Titled 'You've Made Your Bed, Now Go Bounce On It,' the book is a compilation of quotations about children, their parents and others who care about them. The book was put together by a local journalism professor and volunteer at the nursery, Gordon Jackson.

A portion of the book's royalties will go toward the nursery, which relies entirely on donations from the community, teachers and others who work with children, both in our community and beyond. The book will be available at the Whitworth University bookstore, at Auntie's Bookstore in downtown Spokane, and on Amazon. It sells for $9.95. " />

Spokane's Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery to benefit from new book about children

— You've most likely heard the quotation that "It takes a village to raise a child." But maybe you're less familiar with the idea that "It takes a whole village to keep parents sane." Or how about Garrison Keillor's observation that "Nothing you do for children is ever wasted."
