Tick Tock will fix your clock, and watches too

'Healthy Tickers Last Longer' is the tagline Ryan Fox lives by as he opens his new clock and watch repair shop Tick Tock Time Repair LLC. Conveniently located at 12308 East Broadway the corner of Pines and Broadway in Spokane Valley, Tick Tock Time Repair services brands from Armitron to Zenith and just about everything in between. They also sell clocks and watches as well as provide a consignment service for clocks.

Tick Tock offers professional clock repair services in Spokane Valley for mantel, wall and grandfather clocks, by a Swiss Certified Watchmaker. They service mechanically powered, battery and electric clocks and provide house-calls on Saturdays for grandfather clocks.

Born and raised in Spokane Valley, Ryan attended grade school and was home schooled through junior high and high school, graduating in 2000. During his high school years, Ryan joined the Destination Imagination Science Club. His team entered the technical challenge of constructing a miniature roller coaster using mechanics and pneumatics. They won first place in the Washington State competition in 1999. This win qualified them to enter the World Championship contest held at the University of Iowa in 2000. The gifted and talented team won 9th place overall.

Ryan had a desire to return to college and attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah where he took various classes in four different majors. While at BYU he studied bio-informatics, mathematics, computer science, and mechanical engineering. Mechanical engineering classes particularly began to point him in a new direction. At this time he became interested in watch and clock repair, a micro version of mechanical engineering. Ryan had finally found what he wanted to do. He was able to use his natural intuitive gift in diagnosing and repairing mechanical problems in micro-mechanics.

In order to become a watchmaker, he first had to pass a full day of interviews and exams just to be accepted into the Watch Technology Institute two-year program in Seattle. Only 12 students are accepted each year. By the end of this training, he successfully attained three watch certifications: CW21 (Certified Watchmaker of the 21st Century). SAWTA (Swiss American Watchmakers Training Alliance) and WOSTEP (Watchmakers of Switzerland Training Educational Program.) Fewer than 3% of the watchmakers in the United States have achieved all three certifications. Those knowledgeable about horology will recognize these professional and highly valued certifications.

He returned to Spokane to work for a well-known, long-established family jewelry store in 2011. Ryan worked at the bench repairing all kinds of watches and clocks. In 2013, he decided it was time to start his own business. With the support of his family he opened Tick Tock Time Repair LLC.
