Women Helping Women Fund Spokane announces new Executive Director

The Women Helping Women Fun Spokane welcomes Jackie Worobec as their new Executive Director. Worobec joined the organization in March and replaces seven-year Executive Director, Lisa Diffley.

Worobec joins WHWF Spokane with a diverse background in the non-profit arena, as well as a deep commitment to issues impacting women. Her professional and community development experience includes the Junior League of Seattle and Spokane, Girl Scouts-Totem Council, BioMed, and Marsha Rivkin Center for Ovarian Cancer Research. She brings with her expertise in development and volunteer management as well as certifications in grant writing and fundraising for small non-profits. In leadership, Worobec served as board president of the United Way of San Juan County and is president elect for the Junior League of Spokane.

Spokane's Women Helping Women Fund (WHWF) was established in 1992 to raise the level of awareness about the plight of women and children living in poverty in our community. The non-profit organization believes that empowering women and children builds healthy families and vibrant communities. The organization is committed to helping women and children by raising money to assist programs that are making a difference in the lives of those in need. A volunteer board of directors and executive director guides the direction and operations of Spokane's WHWF.

In 2013, WHWF proudly awarded $222,500 in grants to local programs assisting women and children. Since 1992, WHWF has raised more than $6 million for local initiatives.
