At The Core is helping to make a better community

— Today, one out of every four kids in our community is unsure where their next meal might come from. So, At The Core, is focusing efforts on feeding needy kids over the weekends through the a Bite-2-Go Program.

At The Core can help your business adopt a local school for a 3-year period. A schools coordinator meets with school administration and staff to get an estimate of the number of children who will need this support. Your business' involvement can help greatly in funding or jointly funding the program with a church or another business. At The Core can also help recruit and train volunteers and network with other organizations to fill the need at your adopted school. Your business' Bite-2-Go Program can be unique and At The Core can help.

Bite-2-Go provides weekend meals to hungry children who depend on free breakfasts and lunches during the school week. Each child receives a Bite-2-Go kit of shelf-stable foods during the school day on Friday to help with meals over the weekend. It costs $144 a year ($12 per month) to feed one child over the weekends for the entire school year.

At The Core is a 501-c3 non-profit organization, serving a system through which the Bite-2-Go program is marketed and implemented city-wide, with the help of Second Harvest Food Bank. For more information or to donate, visit www.lifeatthecore.org.
