Susan Joseph Nielsen named Executive Director of College Success Foundation - Spokane



Susan Joseph Nielsen has been named the new executive director of College Success Foundation Spokane. Nielsen is responsible for the day-to-day operations of College Success Foundation Spokane and Yakima, including staff supervision, fund development, community collaborations, community relations and local operations. She reports to Yolanda Watson Spiva, Ph.D., CSF's president and CEO, and will serve on the president's executive team.

Nielsen has more than 25 years of experience working as a senior leader and consultant in the areas of K-12 and higher education, energy, health care, journalism, advancement/fundraising, consulting and media relations with and for nonprofit organizations and businesses.

Nielsen has a B.A. in communication from Washington State University and an M.S. in interdisciplinary studies from Eastern Washington University. She is accredited in public relations (APR) through the Public Relations Society of America. She has been an event keynote speaker for businesses and organizations on the subjects of community engagement, business and nonprofit collaboration, strategic partnerships and business ethics. She has been a guest lecturer at Gonzaga University, Eastern Washington University, Whitworth College and Washington State University.
