Steam Plant Stacks Turn Purple for American Cancer Society Survivors

— Join the American Cancer Society to 'flip the switch' this Wedbesday, May 20 at 5:30pm at Steam Plant Square. The stacks will be purple from May 20 to 29 to celebrate, remember and fight back for cancer survivors, caregivers and supporters in Spokane.

The stacks will remain lit until May 29, marking the Spokane Relay For Life event at Shadle Park High School. Attendees of the stack lighting are encouraged to wear purple and dedicate a luminaria to a loved one lost or battling cancer which will be illuminated during the at the Spokane Relay For Life. The Steam Plant will donate all proceeds of sales on May 20 of the cheese bread appetizer to the American Cancer Society. Funds raised through Relay For Life benefit life-saving research, and assist cancer patients in Spokane through programs and services like Road to Recovery, Look Good...Feel Better, Patient Navigators, Cancer Resource Centers and hotel partner programs.
