AFA 10th Annual Governor's Aerospace Summit Oct 7 and 8

— Building on the growth of aerospace in Eastern Washington, AFA (aerospace Futures of Washington) will host its 10th Annual Governor's Aerospace Summit in Spokane, this Wednesday and Thursday, October 7 & 8. Washington has seen exciting growth in all areas of aerospace in 2015, from composites, R&D, and advance manufacturing, to mechatronics, engineering, and aviation. This year's Summit will highlight the growth in aerospace with several Keynote presentations, including John Blazey, Boeing vice president of Legislative Affairs based in Washington, DC; Rande Cruze, Mitsubishi Aircraft America, vice president of Customer Support; Brandon Pedersen, Alaska Airlines CFO & vice president of Finance; Bill McSherry, Boeing vice president of State & Local and Global Corporate Citizenship; Peter Zieve, Electroimpact CEO; Brian Bonlender, Washington State director of the Dept. of Commerce; and a contingent of aerospace executives from Eastern WA and ID, among other executives and elected officials.

Topics include EXIM Reauthorization, FAA Reauthorization, National Aerospace Issues, CO2 Emissions Standards, Open Skies Trade Agreements (TPP, TTIP), aerospace growth in WA State, aerospace growth in Eastern WA, how Alaska Airlines is thriving amid a changing industry, and a wide variety of other aerospace related topics.

The Summit will be held from 1pm until 6pm on October 7, and from 7:30am until 1:45pm on October 8, at the Spokane Convention Center, Centennial 300 Ballrooms, 334 West Spokane Falls Blvd. Registration is still open and can be completed at greaterspokane.org/events/2294/. The registration fee is $175 per person. Special pricing for active and non-active military personnel and their spouses can be acquired by contacting AFA at info@afa-wa.com.
