HR veteran Laura Wood joins STCU executive team as vice president

Laura Wood, STCU's former director of human resources, has taken on a new leadership role at the credit union: vice president of human resources and organizational development.

Wood joined STCU as HR director in 1998. She's helped to create employment policies that balance employees' need with the organization's needs, competitive benefits, a highly effective talent-recruitment program, and a workplace where employees feel motivated to serve members. Wood also serves as a contributing member of STCU's Strategic Committee and oversees the organization's Transition Coaching Program for new leaders. She is pursuing a master's degree in organizational leadership at Gonzaga University. In 2014, she earned a bachelor's in organizational management at Whitworth University.

Founded by educators in 1934, STCU is a member-owned, not-for-profit cooperative with 146,000 members, more than $2.1 billion in total assets, and 18 branch locations in North Idaho and Eastern Washington.
