Numerica offers over $12,000 in scholarships

— Numerica Credit Union has announced a new scholarship fund to help students pursue higher education. The fund consists of two different types of scholarships: five $1,500 Student Ambassador scholarships for local high school seniors and one $5,000 Returning Student scholarship for a student who is returning to college. The scholarships' focus is around the applicant's community service efforts and does not have a GPA requirement. Applicants are required to complete a cover letter, application, and submit a letter of reference from a non-profit. The Student Ambassador Scholarship is for high school seniors entering a two or four-year college or university. Applications are accepted through May 11, and will be announced on June 15. The Returning Education Scholarship is for students who had previously started higher education pursuits and are now returning to a two or four-year program after a lapse in time. Applications are accepted through June 15, with the award being announced August 10. To be eligible for either scholarship, applicants must be a Numerica Credit Union member in good standing.
