Because There is Hope Fundraiser

— Because There is Hope will be holding their 13th annual Cinderella Tea and Fashion Show at the Spokane Convention Center to raise money to provide temporary housing for cancer patients traveling to Spokane for their treatment. The Cinderella Tea will be on Saturday, February 25 from 10:30am to 1pm. Doors open at 9:30am to allow participants time to peruse silent auction and raffle items. A petite appetizer plate, tea and dessert are included. Ticket price is $40, and the Tea is open to the public.

The average stay for patients being housed is six to eight weeks, with the cost approximately $450 per month. During this life-altering, emotional time, expenses can be overwhelming for the cancer patient and family. All funds raised are used to maintain this home away from home.

Cancer Care Northwest has generously donated property to Because There is Hope to help them build their own, permanent home for their patients. Garco Construction has drawn the plans for the home and they will be displayed at the tea.

Because There is Hope is a non-profit 501c3, founded by Melody Biehl in 2004 after her experience with breast cancer. The organization has helped house patients from Montana, Northern Idaho, Oregon and all of Eastern Washington. They welcome patients with all types of cancer, not just breast cancer. For more information visit the website at www.becausethereishope.org and you can find them on Facebook.
