'Let The Good Meals Roll!' campaign to feed more local women and children

— The Women & Children's Free Restaurant (WCFR) delivery van called it quits. With more than 20 area nonprofits counting on them to deliver meals to women and children in crisis, the local nonprofit needs Spokane's help to purchase a new vehicle. Let the Good Meals Roll! is a 30-day campaign to raise money to purchase a new delivery vehicle for WCFR's Nutrition-to-Go program. Last year, after nearly 20 years of service, their minivan made its last delivery. A team of volunteer drivers stepped up and have been using their personal vehicles to make sure meals are delivered to partners, but this is not a long-term solution. WCFR is raising $20,000 for a new delivery vehicle that will enable them to safely and reliably deliver meals to partners.

Every dollar donated to the campaign through August 6 will be generously matched by Numerica Credit Union up to $15,000. Donations can be made online at fundly.com/let-the-good-meals-roll.

Through its Nutrition-to-Go program, WCFR delivers 700 to 900 free meals per week free to women and children accessing services at nonprofits throughout Spokane County. For more information, visit www.wcfrspokane.org.
