International Women's Day Celebration on March 9

Local community organizations, businesses, and universities join together to offer a free, public celebration of International Women's Day this Saturday, March 9 at Spokane Community College, Lair Student Center. This year's theme is Balance for Better: Cultural, Creative, and Community Healing. The event runs from 1-5pm, doors open at 12:30pm.

The purpose of this event is to foster community, cultural awareness, and self-care. Keynote speaker is Idella King, an activist for missing and murdered indigenous women. Her presentation, 'Community Healing through Female Indigenous Ideologies' will introduce the afternoon, with workshops, vendor and community resource tabling, and appetizers following the speech. The Keynote will begin promptly at 1pm.

This event is free and open to the public, though space is limited, so registration is necessary, at ywcaspokane.org.
