Spokane's largest dog walk - Parade of Paws - is this Saturday

— Parade of Paws, the Spokane Humane Society's annual summer pledge walk in support of their shelter work is this Saturday, June 15. All dogs are welcome. This year's goal is for 1,000 dog walkers to join on the 2- or 4-mile course in north Spokane at 6607 N. Havana Street. The long route takes you up to Mt. St. Michael where you may have your dog blessed. You are welcome to run/jog the route but there is no timing, no bibs and no corporate cup tent - runners do get to start at the head of the field.

Doors open at 8am with a large vendor fair of local businesses and non-profit organizations set up on the grass. There will be face painting for the littlest walkers, a bouncy castled and a veterinary clinic will be open for $10 pet vaccinations and microchips. Walk starts at 10am. This year's grand marshal is Zach Harper, who sadly lost his dog Hank to a malfunctioning electric sidewalk downtown this winter.

There will also be live music, a food court, photo booth and more. This is pledge walk. You can sign up as an individual or as a team at www.spokanehumanesociety.org under 'events'. All animals are welcome, must be on a leash.
