Dick Hanlin named new executive director of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Spokane County

— After a comprehensive nation-wide search, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Spokane County recently named Northwest native and WSU alum, Dick Hanlin, the new Executive Director of the organization. He replaces former Executive Director Ryan Davenport who left recently after leading the organization for the past four years. Hanlin will assume his new role on January 3, 2011 and lead the organization into its 10th year anniversary celebration.

Hanlin brings nearly 25 years of Boys & Girls Club leadership experience to Spokane having previously served as the Executive Director for three Clubs - the Rogue Valley (Grants Pass), Portland and Alaska. His leadership ability and executive-level mentorship is well documented; at least seven of his former employees have become Boys & Girls Club executive directors and at least three have taken their careers to the National level.

Hanlin's career is highlighted by multiple awards, certification as a BGCA (Boys & Girls Clubs of America) professional, distinction as a Member of the Boys & Girls Clubs Academy and a graduate of the BGCA Management Program. He has also served on National committees including the Conference and Human Resources committee as well as the Training and Professional Development Advisory committee.
