Junior Achievement's 2011 Business Hall of Fame Laureates named

— Junior Achievement's Annual Business Hall of Fame honors men and women who have made significant contributions to the growth of business and the economy in the Inland Northwest. This year Junior Achievement will be honoring three extraordinary local individuals May 13th at the Davenport Hotel. The 2011 laureates to be inducted into the Business Hall of Fame are Carol and Dick Wendle of Wendle Motors and Leroy Nosbaum, former CEO of Itron.

Carol and Dick Wendle own and operate Wendle Motors, the Inland Northwest's leading new and used automobile dealer. Wendle Motors has been in business for over 65 years. Based on Chud Wendle Sr.'s vision, philosophy, commitment to the employee and customer, and business ethics, Wendle has grown into a successful family business. And, over all those years the Wendle family has generously given time and funding to the community.

Leroy Nosbaum, retired CEO of Itron will also be honored as a Laureate. Nosbaum served as Executive Chairman of Itron Inc. from May 2002 to December 31, 2009 and served as its Chief Executive Officer from March 2000 to March 31, 2009. Mr. Nosbaum joined Itron in March 1996 and had executive responsibilities covering manufacturing, product development, operations and marketing. He has more than 30 years of leadership and management experience with companies supplying the utility industry with metering and communications systems, including wireless network solutions.

Howard Putnam, former CEO of Southwest and Braniff Airlines and Group VP Marketing for United Airlines, will be the keynote speaker at the event. He is a business and motivational speaker, author, consultant, commentator, and online mentor on: Leadership, Customer Service, Change, Transformation and Ethics.
