Gem of the Valley Gala honoring Dick Denenny is January 22

— For 2011, the Greater Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce will introduce an all new awards event with the January 22nd kickoff of the Gem of the Valley. The Chamber members and other community citizens will gather to honor the Harry E. Nelson Citizen of the Year. Selected by past recipients Norma Ventris, Mike DeVleming, Julie Prafke, Joe Custer, Diana Wilhite, Ian Robertson and Peggy Doering, this year's award winner is long time Spokane Valley resident, Dick Denenny.

In addition, Awards of Excellence will be given to a small, medium, and large business, as well as a non-profit organization that demonstrates exceptional leadership, initiative, and success in their day-to-day business operations. Recognition also will be given to an individual who has provided outstanding support in 2010 to the Greater Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce.

A gourmet dinner will be served by the staff of the Mirabeau Park Hotel, this year's setting for the Gem of the Valley Gala. At 6 PM sharp, the Gala will get underway with a social hour and silent auction. And to put a new spin on the Award of Excellence presentation, videos of the finalists at their business location will be shown before the winners are announced.

The Gala is a unique opportunity to both market your company and have a wonderful evening for yourself and seven others for only $500. A gourmet dinner, honoring your peers, and dancing - what a fantastic way to kick in 2011. Individual tickets are available for $45 per person at the Chamber office, located at 9507 E. Sprague Ave. in the Valley, or by calling the Chamber office at 509-924-4994.
