Interplayers' Miracle Worker is a miraculous experience

ID Left to right: Sarah Denison, Sophia Caruso and Patty Duke

Interplayers has a hit on their hands. The Miracle Worker caps off their 30th anniversary season with the Miracle Worker, and it's so popular they've already added another week. The show now runs through May 29th. The classic drama of determined teacher, Annie Sullivan, and blind, deaf child Helen Keller is directed by the legendary Patty Duke who won and Academy Award in 1962 for playing Helen.

Diminutive but powerful, nine year old Sophia Caruso steals this show with her incredibly professional portrayal of Helen Keller. She has been in many plays before, but this role is especially demanding. Little Sophia steps up and gives a huge performance. She is Helen Keller. Caruso and Sarah Denison who plays Annie Sullivan create riveting theatre in this often violent, physical and emotional story. This is a play not to miss! As the Spokesman-Review's Jim Kerschner said in his fabulous review of this play in Sunday's paper, "I've attended every Interplayers production for 22 years, and I have never, ever, seen the audience continue applauding long after the actors had left the stage." It is truly a miraculous experience!
